INFORMATION RELEASE
November 19, 2021
COVID-19 vaccine boosters now available to anyone age 18 and up
The Centers for Disease Control and Infection
now recommend the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine boosters to anyone age 18 and older. This follows
authorization by the Food and Drug Administration. The Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 boosters were already available to anyone 65 years and older, and people age 18 and older with underlying
medical conditions, or who live or work in high-risk settings. Now, anyone age 18 and up can get a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine booster, regardless
of which vaccine you initially received.
If you initially received the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, you can get a Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson booster 6 months or more after the initial series.
If you initially received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you can get a Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson booster 2 months or more after the initial vaccine.
Because boosters are widely available in Juneau, the City and Borough of Juneau will not be holding any booster clinics to accommodate the newly eligible. Here are details for Juneau
COVID-19 vaccine providers:
You can also call CBJ’s COVID-19 Hotline 586-6000 to schedule a vaccine or booster appointment.
